Default Malay Watissit (sp)

Being offered to me. What is it? Blade has crosshatch markings, iron rings on both ends of the hilt. Rattan wrap with pitch. Any ideas?

Kino, this reminds me of a Bagobo variant of utility knife. Wish I had pictures of the other puppy for comparison.

Maybe inspired by an Panabas/Tabas blade?

The hilt seems to resemble a Yakan Pira though...
