			Hi All,

I'm visiting Jaipur -- My first in many many years and will like to take an opportunity to buy some edged stuff. Could our esteemed forumites be kind to share if there are known dealers/ places to visit. I'm planning to visit the palace museum and the Albert Hall too along with the Jaigarh and Amer forts. Are there any other "should not miss" from arms and armor stand point.? Thanks for all the help, Cheers, Bhushan |

			Hi Bhushan

am sure you will see lots of weapons but sadly most are reproductions done in jodhpur, but very good koftagiri work being done nowdays, you will find the odd Sirohi Katars which have been dug up from the ground, and in bad condition.well hope you find something good and genuine, cheers Rajesh |

I hope you will be more successfull but the only blades I could find for sale during my visit to India were recent reproductions/fakes (since the sellers were trying to sell me some obviously newly made blades as genuine Mughal era).

And in Jaipur I couldn't even find the reproductions. However, I assume that if you have the right connections you may stand a chance of finding some real antiques. Last edited by mariusgmioc; 27th July 2017 at 06:10 PM. |
