POCKET KNIFE FROM THE AMERICAN FAR WEST

This is my last adquisition, I was a pair of days with doubts about buy it or no, but finally I bought it. I haven´t the knife now but in a days I will have it.
The pocket knife is marked M TRUSTWORTHY MAPPIN&COMPI SHEFFIELD and the measurement is total 9 , 5 in and the blade 5, 25 in .

Hi Carlos,

I love these old folders!

I am able to locate two references to a Sheffield knife maker named Mappin - a Mappin Brothers and a Mappin & Webb, the latter of which used the "Trustworthy" trademark, and produced cutlery from 1835 to 1964.

What material was used in the construction of the bolsters? Is it a ferrous metal?

Hi all

This is not actually an ethnographic piece. It is a Sheffield folding knife so I moved it into the European section.
