A kris, and a gunong
It's been a while since I had anything new to share. Here is my latest. The kris is 28" overall with a 23 3/4" blade. The baca baca is iron or steel, and the hilt needs some wrapping. The gunong has a 5 3/8" blade, and is 9" overall. Both have pattern welded blades.
Thanks for looking, Steve |

SEA weapons are not my thing, but it looks like two nice blades found the perfect new home. Great job on the etching, I only wish I could get subtle patterns to pop out like that.

The kris looks Maranao and perhaps late 19c. I like some of the laminations on it. Too bad the hilt was rehilted and torn apart.....
The gunong - But then again, you are the king (or datu) of gunongs. |

Hello Steve,
It's great to see you posting your new additions. Really like the blade on the kris. I don't even want to guess how many gunongs you've got in your collection by now. Thanks for sharing. Robert |
