Default Question about Middle Eastern knife (jambiya?)

I recently picked up this knife and was wondering if anyone can tell me about it, i.e. if there is an actual name for it, approximate age, where manufactured, if it is something other than a tourist item, etc. Hopefully the pics are enough to make a determination. I apologize if I've overdone it for a first post. Thanks for any help.

Gary

Default A few more pics

I know it's a lot to look at, but I want to be thorough. Thanks again.

Hello Gary!

The knife you have here is a Syrian jambiya from the Golon Heights. These were made during the french ocupation. Which whould place yours to the mid 20th. century. I have two of these. Yours apperars to be a using piece used as part of the traditional dress, probably from the 1950-1960's.

Mark...
These are my two.
