My keris: 3 hilts
Hi all,
Need help to indentify the origin of these 3 hilts that looks to me very interesting pieces. Is it a variant of Madura hilt type or for comercial purpose related to wayang kulit/wayang puppet characters? Thank you. |

The origin of these ukirans is Surakarta, Solo. They represent Semar, the clown from the wayang scene.
These ukirans were originally used and are still present in the collection of the keraton. I don't think that these ukirans are old but they are very fine examples and of a good quality. I would say a reproduction and not a replica. I would be very pleased when someone gave me these as a present to punish me |
