For those who like African shields, here is an example I got not so long ago. They are often described as "Masai" shields although they were also used by other tribes in the area of East Africa... Regards |

This is very well preserved shield. Did this shields with white/light coloured sectors belong to the groups of young warriors ?

Hi Martin
I havn't heard of such a concept regarding these East African shields...however I have read that regarding Zulu shields from South East Africa, shields which were predominately of white cowhide, were used by more senior warriors/regiments. |
