Sto catalogando e restaurando le armi di un museo italiano. La Fondazione Fioroni. http://www.fondazione-fioroni.it/ Ora sto catalogando la collezione di armi medievali, rinvenute durante lavori di scavo nel fiume Adige a Legnago, vicino a Verona. La collezione comprende armi dal 5° secolo ai primi 1600 Queste armi sono state impiegate nelle numerose battaglie che si svolsero presso la fortezza di Legngo. Una importante fortezza di confine, testimone di vicende fondamentali per la storia d'Italia. Vorrei condividere con voi la gioia delle scoperte che costellano questo mio nuovo incarico. Mi rivolgo a voi per migliorare e ottimizzare l'identificazione. e metto a disposizione del forum tutta la mia esperienza in materia. An introduction worthy of rolling out the proverbial red carpet, IMHO...

Hi Cesare,
The sword you posted is of characteristic North Italian type, ca. 1300. Please share more early weapons in that museum with us; my special interest and expertise are earliest firearms of the 14th to the 17th centuries, as well as period ammunition and all accouterments. Best, Michael |
