Another rapier from the Auckland Museum
The museum describes this as an English rapier, circa 1650; hand wrought iron cup hilt Italian style; iron pommel. It has an inscribed fuller on both sides.

Yes it is , almost like the Englisch version of a Pappenheimer rapier.
The design of the pommel and guard sweep are also typical English from the first half of the 17th century, how long is it ? |

The problem remains that i can't make out the othe side.
From the three Aguirre in the family, (H)Ortuņo, Domingo and Nicolas Hortuņo, none seems to fit . |
