Considering the cracks I also think thatthis scabbard is not newly made, but just cleaned and well polished.
Same as with the blade, cleaned and stained in javanese style.
Not the way I like it with bugis blades, by the way.

Still, nice piece, amazing what comes out of this swiss cupboard
