Help with this tanto

Hallo All

I bought recently this tanto and I want to help me with the tag signature and if you have any coments for the tanto
Those are the only photos that I have now.

If this were a Japanese tanto - and of course, it is not - it would appear to be signed and dated. The "date" says something like "Joji 2nd year", but I can't record of any such date - - and it looks fishy. The "signature" is some thing like "Matsui Tani" - and it is gobble-di-gook. This is Chinese fantasy stuff - -- IMHO
