Could be, but hard to say with such a small image.
BTW, that is an unusually large barung and hardly qualifies as a concealed weapon -- wonder how he got close enough to do any damage without being detected carrying such an obvious weapon. |

Not sure he did. They could be bullet-marks, or dirt, or whatever, but they sure could be....On further examination I think what's on the blade might be blood......

Yeah, blood and/or glop; possibly even mud from the ground; I can't decide how wet it looks; maybe some staring............I originally started examining the blade surface in hopes the lines were etched lamination; wouldn't that be interesting in an old photo?........

Ground looks fairly dry; them shoes are pretty clean. Maybe he did get his slice on.

think Tom's last comment explains it. what is interesting is the 1908 date for a very long blade, it has been suggested here that this blade is post WWII, clearly not.

To me this looks like a young boy mabe this is why the blade looks so big?And what about the burns to his face muzzle flash?
