Nice old rencong with laminated blade
![]() Looks like the real deal (eufenism, I mean : is the real deal) . If you ever want to part from it let me know ![]() You can wash it with lemon or lime to bring out the lamination a little bit more. Ferrule looks like copper, but try to polish it up with just a cotton cloth. Suasa wil start to shine more easily due to the silver and gold contents. Best regards, Willem |

Henk & Willem,
Thank you very much. I wanted to get an authentic (menaing, not touristy) rencong, and I hope I have come far compared to my previous attempt: http://vikingsword.com/vb/showthread...hlight=rencong I brought the pattern out with diluted vinegar, but I will probably try citric acid. I have read from Alan Maisey that pineapple juice work good. Can anyone confirm this? Anyway, thank you all very much, I am very happy with this rencong, which will now take its place next to a munitions grade sikin I have. Aceh weapons can be very interesting and addictive and I will have to watch out. Regards, Teodor |
