Hi Gonzalo, if you mean the "loops" at the side of the wood guard it's just a bar of iron bended to be an additional guard. I don't remember where but I see also pictures of kampilans that show on both sides iron guards (maybe one of these kamps is in the collection of one of our members)

Hi Flavio, thank you very much for the data. You are righ, the loops are only on the guard, I made a mistake. Interesting construction. I am not familiar with this weapons, though I like them. I hope you enjoy this nice finding.

now all you need is a brown kiwi shoe polish to get that honey patina on the rattan...

Spunjer, great idea!! The colour is more dark than you can see from pics but I'll try some dark shoe polish!! Rick, yes I think to do also the over wrapping in the next days and something more....
