on close examination the right side of the bolster on mine has what i thought were two parallel nicks or file marks, i suspect after seeing above that they also are the remains left exposed to show it was made from a file.

Hi All

The knife arrived yesterday and is a real nice example.

I noticed that the tip of the blade has a small cut out at the tip but I don't know why? It looks purposely done may to help it penetrate more easily?

This is probably the best khodmi I have seen, and is no doubt a status piece. It has the most intricate and decorated scabbard I have even seen on one.

The legend of the notched blade tips again resurfaces!!

Everybody turn your hymnals (Wagner "Cut and Thrust Weapons", the Austrian section, there are 18th century swords with notched tips).
