Nice one, Lew. This knife comes from Algeria.
Here's mine. It's quite sharp and has a thick back. The wooden handle is also decorated with wire wrap. In addition to that, some twisted copper thread has been applied to the handle. It runs lengthwise to the top of the handle. There's also an inscription on the base of the blade. Don't know what it means, though. ![]() ![]()

)Linky Linky2 on close examination the right side of the bolster on mine has what i thought were two parallel nicks or file marks, i suspect after seeing above that they also are the remains left exposed to show it was made from a file. |

Hi All
The knife arrived yesterday and is a real nice example. I noticed that the tip of the blade has a small cut out at the tip but I don't know why? It looks purposely done may to help it penetrate more easily?Lew |
