The guy looks to me as Napoleon the Third. The eagle reminds me of something, but I can't quite remember...

Rirvin, bravo!
The left face looks like Napoleon III, indeed. But the nose of the man in the right is not so "french" Also Moroco was occupied by France and Spain in 1902. Napoleon III had died in 1873.

vinegar brought these pictures up? I ask for a practical reason; I have an old Persian(?) spear with faint old etching, about 50% visible on one side, but only about 5% on the other. The surfaces are fairly smooth and nice; not very seriously rusted; just worn/polished off over the years, I guess.
It looks like European frisket etching? The blade does look European, too, but remember where Mooroco is; I've found Euroisms in Moorish work, and it's not surprising. This is somewhat similar to a khoumiya I have; anyone have comment on age/tribe/region? |

If the eagle is Mexican, the guy might be Ferdinand Maximilian, Emperor of Mexico (1832 - 1867) ... they all looked a litel bit alike in those days....
