Well....this a recently finished eBay Auction.

Strange that Shaka had a socketted spearhead and the rest of the Zulu's used those with a tang

Must be what makes it so 'unique' to command such a high price

If only I had the money....

I emailed the seller on this one and asked him the same question. He told me he has a vivid imagination but he also has extensive knowledge when it comes to antiques

The spear is probably from the Congo or southern Sudan.

Hi Lew,
I think "a vivid imagination" ...is an understatement

The price...an "over-exageration" , the postage cost suggests that Shaka ..himself, would be "hand delivering" the item.

I have to agree that the Sudan or Congo are likely....Shaka certainly "got around"......

The moderators may spank me for this. But here is a link to the theme for the movie Shaka Zulu. The Video shows Shaka played by Henry Cele developing the iKlwa from umKhonto.

The Spear in the video is a large heavy spear and the only Spear in the movie this big.

I have yet--notice the word yet--to see an iKlwa as big as that one in the movie. Catchy tune by the way!

Here"s the ones I have acquired so far.

Note none of these are anywhere near 31 inches. Nor is the one in the Shaka Zulu trailer that big and it is a big spear! 31 inches is more like a Sword.

Just to wet your appetite here are some I ran onto last week

Actually, I really did think about buying them all...told the wife it was investment....I must have used that line one to many times....did come home with 6 of them however.
