Interesting Wootz Jambiya
This just ended on ebay. Nice wootz blade but it must have been rehilted as a presentation piece.

Where does it come from?
I guess, Pakistan, by the name of the Zia Gadoo. The furniture does not conform to any style known to me; I guess it was a custom job. Nice blade. |

Here are a couple of links to similar jambiyas.

The mountings are markedly similar. I'll be interested to hear what you think of that blade when you have it in hand. It looks fine.

My guess is that the blade came from a Balkan jambiya and probably rehilted in Syria back in the 1960s- 70s

The dagger arrived the other day and it's real nice The blade has a nice wootz pattern and the niello work is nice though I think it is silver plated copper and not real silver. Still it looks just fine with my other jambiyas
