Greetings folks,
I finally finished my taribon restoration. It has taken a while since I am restoring other people's projects (I take one day a week to restore my own). According to some new information I ran into and with the help of Lorenze, I was able to carve the final panel of the scabbard (which I made years ago) and place period silver coins in it. Here are the before pictures: |

I forgot to mention this is from the highlands of Panay island in the middle of the Philippines. This type was ceremonial and was for person of status and wealth - the top of the line and the silver coins were a further sign of wealth.
