Hello Arnel,

i really like the plaque
Well, I for one think you did a good deed to free this blade!

BTW, the Madurese keris might be pretty decent as well - post some pics of it and let the keris specialists have a look...

i don't have any idea what the other pieces are but my home gym is just perfect for them
The nimcha is probably tourist or wedding ceremony quality.
No idea about that star dagger - Henk suggested a Moroccan or Filipino origin?

Quote:
no, the new krises ferrule is not hexagonal, it is of brass construction similar to the other 18th c.kris with twist core.
Thanks! I didn't realized that the pommel is octagonal which doesn't fit with my suggestion anway...

Quote:
not sure if the inlays on the the bigger kris with twist core is swaasa? but it look like similar material to bands on the handle. should have it checked.
Let us know - AFAIK it doesn't look like tarnished silver!

Regards,
Kai

hi kai,

the silver pommel was tarnished, and the blade was very rusty when i rec'd it thursday afternoon, can't stand rust so i cleaned it up with a very fine sanding paper, and final polished it w/ mother's metal polishing paste including the handle/pommel, i have not etch the blade yet, may be next week when i have time again.

I was going to ask you to post that one. Wonderful puppy. Looks like the hilt is made of silver and swaasa. Would you also show the top of the hilt please?
