				 | Does anyone else have a Shona Knife This Large

I purchased this Shona Knife/ Bakatwa, and all of the research I have been able to do refers to them as dagger like or like a ceremonial knife, but this example seems to be much bigger. I wasn’t sure if anyone had any additional information or more examples to share.

Unfortunately, I only have one years-old photo with me, now. It shows a Shona "sword", about 70 cm long, if I remember correctly. Apparently it had something like a wooden guard originally, which is broken off now and were wrapped with wire. (I think it could be quite old since the copper wires are already very fragile and break easily.) |
