It is great to rescue these items and find such markings underneath. I wish my weekends expenditure was as cheap, I just purchased a perfect condition Wilkinson flintlock pistol but no regrets at all, it is a very special item.

Thank you Ken. I am perfectly aware this is closest to a piece of junk but, as you say, finding things, whatever they are, under a rust cover, is always a pleasant surprise.
In the meantime i found here a fresh (and smaller) example of this pattern of navajas; if Rick doesn' mind .
