				 | Uyghur knife?

Hi all! I came into possession of this knife recently and I’ve been having a hard time figuring out what it is/where it came from. Someone suggested that it might be a reproduction Uyghur knife and that the markings on it should indicate where it was made. The problem is I cannot read it and google translate isnt translating it either (seriously, it translated it to “sweaty mouth” and I’m pretty sure that’s not what it actually says lol). Does anyone know how I can go about identifying the makers mark? Even if it’s just a mass produced one I’m okay with that, it’s still a gorgeous knife. I can’t stop staring at it! Another question I have is how can I safely remove the corrosion on it without damaging it? |

Quite right, Stichy! This is a Uighur knife made in the city of Yangisar 英吉沙. This is the main center for the production of Uighur knives.

For cleaning the blade you can use a rust rubber and for the brass parts a metal polish, at the black corrosion at the brass part with help from 000 steel wool. Regards, Detlef |
