Ain't no V&A, or the Hermitage....:-)
The D-guard looks German , one of the WWs, the handle is newly-fashioned, crudely carved out of wood. But the only thing that interests me is the mark. Can't recall a similar one. |

The guard could be German, but to me it looks Austrian, from the beginning of the 20th century.

I thought about it because of the width of the guard. Even though they often had slits.
Googling was no use. |
