Interesting and unusual indeed and that might be the reason why you didn't get any replies so far.
Anyhow, it is quite clear they weren't meant for battle but for dress, ceremonial or other purposes (tourist market?). ![]() |

I don't believe they are tourist pieces. I think they may have originally been Indian and then made their way into Persia or Afghanistan. Hopefully someone will translate the inscriptions.- bj
