Hi Kate,
You could also try to look at : http://anthro.amnh.org/ Go to 'Collections Database' and then to 'African Etnographic Collection'. For the word 'spear' they give 1558 objects. You could try to look if one of these pictures looks like your spear. Happy hunting.
