				 | Hindu, i think ... but what ?

I am not on ethno stuff nowadays but the so called 'collecting trend' bug made me buy this thing. Most certainly old, at least 19th century ? Hand painted, on 15 m/m thick wood, whith motifs that i find to be Hindu... A rather thorough paint work. Most probably there are members around who would know what these images represent ... or what they allude to. With a 50 centimeters diameter and marks on the back which make us see that it was attached (nailed) somewhere, what would this thing be ... a three legged (tea) table board ? I am not sure of that, as such tables are often faceted and not round. What do you guys say ? . Last edited by fernando; 26th October 2014 at 07:12 PM. |

Thanks a lot for your input, Gentlemen. I wonder what would be the use of this thing; in fact a table top ... or hanging somewhere for decoration . |
