Don't you agree Fernando K that, despite whatever origin the barrel and lock smiths have, this beautiful pistol style is the typical Catalana de Bola (ball stock), like those from Ripoll ?

Hello, Fernando and all
If, of course. The handle ball is typical of Ripoll, but has been copied everywhere. Corrado, has risen to wire Dana W "Spanish pistol, maker and decoration", a copy of grip ball produced in Italy (Napoli RM) Affectionately. Fernando K |

Many thanks for the different posts. I understood that a gunsmith Larriategui has been working in Placencia during the years between 1720 and 1740. However the gunmaker Larranaga's adress is still unknown. What has become quite clear is that this type of pistol in the so called Ripoll style was not limited to Ripoll but has been made in other regions too.
Thanks a lot corrado26 |
