My first thoughts were 'Wow! An iron grip! Also a long grip." As Peter Johnsson says (and also pointed out another forum (http://myarmoury.com), these are characteristic of eastern Baltic/Finnish swords.

Oh, so a link to another article, not to the article . My bad.
I failed to see that it was not the same text; thought it was only from a different publisher, mostly influenced by both titles being almost the same and pictures of the sword being from the same photographer.
