Default Is this Chinese or Indonesian sword?

This just ended on ebay. I thought it was Chinese from the handle but the blade. Not sure. What do the Indonesian collector say?

I don't think it is Chinese, but I would love more description and maybe a picture of the guard.
Thanks,
Josh

Me too but that's all there was. Looks like the handle and the guard are both horn?

Hmmmm. A toughy. At this point I am hesitantly leaning the other direction towards Indonesia based on the blade. Better pictures would be helpful.

The hilt might well be Filipino, but the blade is harder to place. More pictures of the hilt would be helpful.

Ian.

I also think that it could be from Indonesia or the Philippines, hard to say without better pictures.

Another thought: the blade could have been traded from Indonesia to a Filipino, thus a Filipino hilt. Again, better pictures would be helpful.

The decoration on the blade looks a bit Borneo in style .
A la those brass stirrup hilted 'parang naburs' that we see so often .

This Filipino knife just finished on eBay. Note the pommel, brass ferrule and multifaceted handle, similar to our mystery sword.

Ian

Here are the auction pictures.

Thanks. That looks a lot like it.
I guess I was thinking of the octagon shape grip and the steel? ferrule.
Like those swords that have the monsterhead pommel form Visaya? sometimes have a circular guard like this only smaller too.
