David's reaction is justified--these discussions rarely stay on-course and typically degenerate into off-topic socio-political "debate."

If the discussion remains on the weapons themselves, I see no reason why this thread cannot remain open. However, we will strictly enforce this requirement and will close the thread sua sponte if it does not.

I've had a couple of these type muzzle loaders in the past. Wish I still had them, for a photographic comparison. Anyone have any?

I also had the odd one of these years ago but sadly not now. I note from the second pic that one is held together with wire and another with what looks like black adhesive tape! Probably more danger to the user than the target..............

Duh, I forgot about this abbreviated trade gun. Could be from Africa as well as any where else. I love the evidence of the screws being removed, over and over, with a knife.
