Just get the information from a german auctionhouse that I have won this claasic siraui like described from Albert in his book on page 126. I have given a moderate bid, there was only shown this picture, I hope the blade is nice but it seems to be an old honest dagger. The scabbard has some missing wood and maybe a missing foot but I think that this can be restored. Soon as I have received it I will post some more pictures.
Comments are welcome! ![]() |

Have received the dagger already some days ago, nice item with a lot of patina and wear to the scabbard. 23,5 cm inside scabbard with a blade from 13 cm, no fullers. Here some more pictures, hopefully to receive some comments!

Thank you Russel,
they seems to be rare, I've seen only very few in the last years for sale. And by this one the price was correct. Regards, Detlef |

There is a near identical example in "Catalogue of Ethnographical Specimens" by W.O. Oldman, No. 119, Vol. X, entry #36.

Hello Detlef,
I agree this is a good, old siraui example. From the pics it seems that the inner (concave) bevel is the primary edge; this would make this blade a kind of variant since classic siraui blades have their primary edge on the outer curve (convex side). Regards, Kai |
