Another alternative is Prish Resizer. Google it and you will find a download site easily. Once it is on your computer you can right click any image you have and resize it to one of 4 different sizes, it will preserve your original image as well. You don't need to be connected to the web to use it either.

I use Light Image Resizer 4, you can download it for free and you can work with it very well. And also keep the original pictures.
