IMXO, Indo-Persian Khandjar, image 5 may show wootz, but better etching may be revealing. AFAIK, Pesh Kabz as a rule has a T- reinforced blade and Kard is single-edged and is usually straight.
Quite a lot of re-glueing. |

Ariel is right on terminology. It's not a classical Pesh or Kard. It's a khanjar/dagger. I do believe it's Indian, and of mechanical damascus, not wootz, and a fairly recent "retrofit".

Here is a pesh (lt) and a kard (rt), the item being discussed has none of the distinctive traits of either one.

Thank you for all your kind answers.
You gave me several words for the search engine, but I haven't yet found anything like it. I too think it is not very old.... unfortunately. Mostly because of the lack of patina on the hilt and also the blade. The ivory especially looks brand new... |
