Here is a plate from an old auction that lists these three as French spadroons. The one in the middle, quite like the sword in question here. While I can't explain the slightly rectangular mark, I have seen one very similar on a sword I once owned, known to be first empire French. Considering the timing, I wonder whether we might be looking at a blade sourced in France vs Solingen. There is no precedence I know of for that type of mark on a Solingen blade.

As to a more modern hilt, I somewhat don't think so.
