It looks just like the one in the book.
I find it a bit short but otherwise nice. I think another member of this list, in US, have some more information about it. Otherwise I wouldn't have mind the larger one, pictured far left on Fig. 293 B. I suspect that one is Aceh, and not Javanese as described? Michael |

Hi Alam , out of copyright concerns I have sent you a picture via PM .
Sadly the picture in the book is tiny and of poor quality . It does look like the same piece though . |

Phew! That's a relief.
![]() I guess the description is too generic - Pedang Lurus (straight sword). I think is a Javanese Tempius or Pedang Tusuk which literally means (stabbing sword). What do you think? Michael, I wouldn't mind the larger piece as well. Mine is a size 'S' blade. But it's lovely anyway. I'll clean and re-etch the blade once it arrived. Thanks Rick, Michael and Kai. Hi Rick, you've done your best with the small picture.
I'll post back with bigger pictures, when it's with me.

Here are the pictures. (Sorry for the poor quality picture).
http://www.kampungnet.com.sg/modules...view_album.php I'm wondering where does Tempius Jawa or Pedang Tusuk originated from? What I know is, it's used in Central Java but I do not know how it got to its form, who uses it and other matters pertaining to this weapon. And help or pointer would be appreciated. Thank you, in advance. Alam Shah Last edited by Alam Shah; 30th September 2005 at 10:22 AM. Reason: question. |
