To me this very nice yataghan with its hilt and blade style is reminiscent to earlier yataghans (like 17th century early). You can compare it to Sulayman the Magnificent's yataghan. Obviously, Sumayman's is of a quality fitting to the greatest Ottoman ruler, but the style and the dimensions have some similarities. Unortunately, I cannot discern the date, which would be key to showing whether I am somewhat correct or totally wrong about the age of this one.

Anyway, lovely yataghan and better pictures of the gold decoration on both sides of the blade will not hurt.

Regards,
Teodor

Hello,

A very beautiful piece! The date is interesting. I am reading 843 hijri. Its either that or 1348 (or 1384) but I doubt this Yataghan is that recent.
