Interesting antique kukri

Nice piece Lew.
In fact I was discussing this very one behind the scenes very recently.
I personally think the form seems to be something of a 'transitional' shape. The first step away from from the Kuk toward those large recurved knives that in their final form are bowies.

When it arrives, let us know where the POB is.

Arrived today and the tip pierced the box in three places and the hilt was chipped. Found the chips in the packing material

Bummer. They probably will glue back on and show very little.

You know what? Sometimes photos can lead us to making assumptions that we shouldn't, sometimes one persons perceptions of what qualifies as a certain condition grade can differ from the next....
We all know these things and make allowances.

But when a seller can't even be bothered to use suitable or adequate packaging, especially on a fragile or dangerous item!
Thats absolutely not freaking on!

If that had been posted internationally and had pierced the box, the buyer would probobly have lost it.

If I were you, I'd be absolutely furious Lew.

Amazing ! Almost everything he sells is antique. Especially than he should know that packing is important. Damage to antiques is very bad for their marketvalue. Amazing that he has still 100% positive feedback.

I had this once with an old spearhead that came in with a damaged (bend) point.
Fortunately a friend was able to restore that one, because it is such a downer on a purchase.

Hope the chips will glue on nicely.

I remember receiving a bugis keris from an early ebay Seller maybe 10 years ago .
It was sent in a Priority Mail 11X14 inch unpadded cardboard envelope !
