I'll give it a go...
It reads Daurbek Borukaev in old Russian (most likely the name of an owner) with a date of 1886 (but you probably figured that part by yourself ![]() I am no expert in names. My guess would be Buchara or surrounding territory. Definetely not Georgian or Armenian. It is a very nice peice and i wish i could offer you more information |

Daurbek Borukaev [Даурбек Борукаев] was the original owner of the kindjal. It's an Ossetian name. Ossetia is also known as Alania. Kinjals were made there in great quantities.

what are the differences between Georgian, Armenian, Chechen or Dagestanian Kindjal? |
