I would hazard a guess that the other spear is from the Massim region of PNG and the Trobriands.

Hi Tim,
i have a new information since i got in contact with the Grassi museum in Leipzig, Germany, about these items. First i have to correct the orign of the lower spear. It came from Bougainville / Baku, northern Salomon Islands. (I should better read my texts ![]() The lance above most probably comes from the northern PNG region, formerly Kaiser Wilhelm Land, near Potsdamhafen which is Awaro now. best Dirk |

Hello Dirk,
I am pleased that I mentioned "Massim" which is nNorth PNG. Just a guess. My wife says I might not get my head through the door. It is a super lance I wish it were mine. |
