Probably the only non-muslim weapon I really wanted.

Stunning and unique piece!
I see the under bidder is a member of our community, perhaps he'll be prepared to share more? Gav |

Gav I wasn't even close but, felt it's rarity deserved a go. I'm reminded of this one. http://www.oriental-arms.com/item.php?id=4373. Sorry at the moment having just switched to Win 7 I'm unable to add a photo. Steve

Another however pushed the envelope to the enth degree and nearly got it, I'd be interested to know more on his thoughts....still a bargain too in my opinion. I have of course left him un-named in case he wished to remain anon. Gav |

wow what a kukri.
the seller seems to think the fittings are brass? But surely looks to be gold. Whats up with the blade along the spine? has a style i havent seen before, the pics arent clear but looks like almost liked its double edged? one of a kind no doubt, would love to hear what spiral thinks of this one? |

The spine is a T-spine until you get to the second edge on the back. Yes a unique piece. Indian versions of the kukri are various.

Lovely piece, Looks gilt on thick brass to me, as Battara says clearly Indian, nicley forged T spine, must be from between 1875 to 1930 I would think, interesting hanging loop for wall hanging, {should be two, with chain between.} Ive normaly seen that on 20th century pieces. Apart from kaudi bieng in existance not that much Hindu symbolism. I wonder if it could be a Sikh piece? Definatly a prestigious kukri, though! Spiral |
