Moro Kris
an unusual pommel. i've seen kampilan handles carved out of whalebones but this is the first time i've seen it on a kris. what's more the shape of the pommel is odd. looks like a molting cockatoo. the baka2x might be a replacement, possibly brass (i'm inclined to say gold, but i haven't had it tested yet). total length is 23 1/4", with just the blade at 18 1/2". archaic?

Nice and early piece. Unusual. I may be wrong but the baka-baka looks like either low silver content or a form of brass. Yes testing will tell for sure what it is.
