According to my wife, the script reads something to the effect of:

???? of Gujarat of truth there is no king like Mara ? compassionate lordship

She couldn't make sense of the first three characters, and there was another she was unsure of towards the end, but this is the general gist of what is written.

thank you sir! i guess i could safely assume that this is from the state of Gujarat. is the script in hindi?

Hi Spunjer,

I'm glad to have been able to be on the contribution-end of a translation request for once...

Regarding the script, she's fairly positive (98+%) - if not absolutely certain - it's Hindi. The couple characters she's having a hard time with (while likely due to the use of an antiquated script, I would presume) have/had her wondering though...
