Query,
I have a Kukri, Pre WWII made circa mid1930s so I have been told, it was taken from a dead Japanese soldier in Burma, there is no disputing the line of provenance either as I have the family history and the military stamped and post marked wooden crate this Kukri another item came back to the US in. Any ideas behind this? Were 1930 made Kukri standard army issue? Thanks Gav Last edited by freebooter; 12th June 2010 at 12:55 PM. |

It looks like a very nice small Villager kukri, quite what a Japanese soldier was doing with it I have no idea, unless it was taken from domiciled Nepalese that they killed in a village?
ps Partial tang kukri of that type are always hard to date Last edited by sirupate; 13th June 2010 at 10:38 AM. Reason: addes info |
