Sorry, IMHO an old blade in an new fanatasy dress.
  Cleaning the blade will not help much. Often these blades are laminated, but with this heavy pitting it will never become a good looker. Try the search function on this website for rentjong and/or rencong There are several nice examples in various threads. From tourist , to good old "Aceh war period"pieces and even "royal" examples. Good luck
