Fine Old Tulwar For Comment

Really nice looking Tulwar. The hilt design does look quite awkward to hold but I have one similar, in shape not quality, and I was pleasantly surprised at how comfortable it is in hand. As Lee suggested it does afford a good grip and I can feel how the shape would help in countering the tendency of the sword to twist and turn. The British 1788 Pattern Heavy Cavalry sword has a round grip and was criticized at the time for this tendency to twist resulting in a slap rather than a cut, this shape of grip would certainly help in negating that problem.
