Default WWII Yugoslavian Freedom Fighter's Dagger

Hello everyone. This image is a bit of a mystery to me.

To my uneducated eye, this dagger looks out of place. The partisan is armed with a double barreled shotgun, a revolver and an interesting dagger. Is it a Balkan style?

I have had a dagger for many years which appears to be of a very similar style to the one in the picture. All I know about it, is that it was brought back by a U.S. GI after WWII.

Thanks in advance.
