Default When Good Kerises Go (to) Bad (Owners)

Some genius decided what this keris needed was a stag hilt. So I picked this up yesterday, and am wondering... in the collective opinion of the kerisphiles here, is it worth investing the time and effort to restore this?

In particular, I am wondering the following: Is the blade older? Is the pendok (or for that matter, the sheath in general) original to the blade?

And if it is worth the effort, how do I begin to go about removing the stag (I think it has been affixed with glue)?

Any other observations you can share would be very welcomed and much appreciated.
