Another thread posts pictures of a Moro kris with a tang repair.
I acquired this a while back from a seller who told me this is an old, native tang repair. Am planning to stain the blade again. Opinions? |

Hello Bill,
Yes, I've seen this approach to repair a broken tang quite a few times - seems to hold amazingly well even in battle... I'm looking forward to seeing this kris restored to full glory! (While the repair is genuine, the grip "wrap" certainly isn't Moro! ![]() ![]() I'd appreciate if you could post pics of the disassembled pieces - one doesn't get an opportunity to study these as easily as in keris. ![]() Regards, Kai |

Hello everybody,
![]() Bill, I agree with Kai. As a matter of fact, I think Adni (MAG) had a sundang for sale, a year or two ago, which had a similar tang repair. Perhaps you could see the pictures if they're still available. Regards. |
